My father Victor Anthony Quintano was a HUGE jets fan his entire life. With all the excitement over the New York Jets making it into the AFC Championship title game has brought back many memories of my father and knowing how excited and proud he would be to see the Jets once again coming one game away from the Super Bowl. The last time the Jets were in this situation was back in the 1998-99 season where the Jets were facing the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship title game, My father bought tickets and flew all the way out to Denver to support his beloved Jets. Unfortunately the Jets lost the game and it was a huge disappointment for our family since we are all really passionate fans. I can’t help but feel that my dad is once again traveling to Indianapolis to support the Jets and finally help get them to the big game. My Dad was a season ticket holder since the Jets were playing back in Shea stadium. I loved going to the jet games with him there was nothing better when the jets were winning a game and we were all standing the entire game yelling and screaming and slapping high fives whenever they scored. I remember when my father and I attended the Monday night miracle game against the Miami Dolphins where the Jets came back from a 23 point deficit to win the game. I remember my dad would always get frustrated and want to leave early when the losing was that bad and that night we left like many other fans. I remember turning on the car radio and listening to the game on the way home with him. It was the 3rd quarter and the jets were driving down field and my dad and I both looked at each other like I can’t believe this. So he started racing home so we could watch the rest of the game. We made it home just in time to witness jumbo Elliott tying the game with an unbelievable touchdown. When they won the game my dad were jumping up and down yelling and screaming at the top of our lungs hugging each other. I miss you and love you very much dad and I hope you are watching down on us. I know you would have been with me at that pep rally last night and tomorrow morning right along side me cheering on the jets. Unfortunately I can’t afford to travel to Indianapolis to support the team but I will be watching that game on Sunday imagining you by my side watching the game with me like we used in years past.
you will get a taste of how emotional this game was and how amazing by watching the video below
