John Hyland and I will be giving a 1 hour presentation next week at the WEVA EXPO in Walt Disney World’s Dolphin Resort in Orlando Florida on Wednesday August 25th, 2010 at 5:00pm.

Many people have heard how amazing social media is and how powerful it can be. I think we are beyond that now and most people realize that. Many people head over to Facebook and Twitter and sign up and realize they know absolutely nothing about how to operate their profile or how to use the application properly. That is where John and I come in. Our presentation is a detailed explanation of many of the key terms that are used on these social media sites like “Hash Tag” “Re-Tweeting” “Checking in” and many other features that Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Youtube and more have. We also will be showing how twitter works and how to use it properly. I have seen many business’s failed attempts at using social media. They sign up and improperly setup a GROUP page on facebook instead of a FAN page.  After a month or so they leave it sitting there with no interaction with their clients and the page goes cold.

John and I will not only show you how to use these tools but what you have to do after your signed up. After WEVA John and I will be continuing our presentation online with video tutorials, live online webcasts answering your questions about anything related to social media. Stay tuned to my website all week August 23rd – 27th as John and I will be tweeting, facebooking, blogging and more from orlando. Tonight Kim and I made an appearance at Twestival NYC at Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, New York. The event was to help support http://www.campinteractive.com. We had a good time at the event but I felt when I walked in that it wasn’t very social. Everyone was busy bowling instead of socializing. I did get the chance to meet two really awesome photographers who were covering the event. twitter.com/julianmackler and Vincent Cornelli. They both grabbed some photos of kim and I together. It was nice to be able to be photographed for once. Kim and I arrived at 7pm and left around 9pm. Dance floor empty Except when Nick Howard performed on stage. Awesome artist check his stuff out at http://www.nickhowardmusic.com. The entire time but the lanes were busy with cliques of people having fun. Felt a bit left out but I wasn’t about to drop $500 to bowl. Yes I know it was a good cause but kim and I are struggling as it is financially we were lucky to even donate what we paid in ticket the ticket price ($20). All in all the event is a really awesome idea but I feel there needs to be more involvement with the people running the event to get people to break the ice. I saw some tweets from people tonight saying how this was the most anti-social social event he had been to0. Thank you again for putting the event on in NY I would definitely attend next year. just hope to actually get to meet more people next time. Begernfest is an amazing event. I had the pleasure of being invited to this event last year by my friends at Sweet Avenue Bake Shop. Merchants from all over Northern New Jersey. Award winning restaurants, Salons, Spas, Cafes, Bakeries and even a fashion show. This was not only a wonderful place to taste some great food and wine, it was also a place to network with other business owners and individual residents of New Jersey. This year Quintano Media will be the Videographer and Photographer of the event and will also have a presentation table as well. So come to the The Estate of Florentine Gardens 97 Rivervale Rd., Rivervale, NJ. The event is sponsored by Bergen Health & Life Magazine . Sweet Avenue Bake Shop at cooking for kids event from Anthony Quintano on Vimeo.

This was a few firsts for me. This is my first time properly exporting my footage from the EX1 and canon 5d mark II. this video includes shots using both camera’s. Both cameras that I will be using to film weddings from this point forward. I also used After effects for the first time since my certification course.  I have to thank Danielle and Jake for inviting me along to this event. Kim and I had a blast tasting all the great food from award winning restaraunts in Northern NJ. I really wanted to put the camera to the test and we got some great footage of these awesome bakers doing their thing. The cupcakes were a hit that evening. If you have yet to try these cupcakes you must visit Sweet Avenue Bake Shop in Rutherford, NJ.

Finally I finished editing the Bergenfest Highlight video. Now I shot this video with my sanyo xacti which is not the best camera to shoot in low light situations as you can tell by the video. This is not the camera I use to shoot my weddings and events. I only used this camera because it was light and small and able to fit in my pocket so I can take still photos as well with my nikon. Next year I will use my Professional camera for this event. Hopefully I will have HD by then.
